New year, new publishing venture

What a year it’s already shaping up to be. Been a bit, so I figured it was worth catching up! On top of moving, getting married, finally finishing the draft of The Cleaners #4, and more, I’ve also finally taken the next step of my publishing plan by opening my own imprint.

Introducing Story Strong Press!

Currently the primary home of The Cleaners and several other titles I have in the works. I’m excited to launch an indie venture alongside my traditional publications, and look forward to building my library for you as readers!

Going hybrid (a mix of traditional and indie/self-publishing) has been part of my career plan for years, and I’m glad to take this next step. It is a definite learning curve as I tackle many of the logistics my former publishers oversaw, such as hiring editors, doing layout, getting cover art and back cover copy taken care of, marketing (oh, wait, I did that part anyways), and all the other business-y stuff that authors tend to love to hate.

Having been a full-time freelancer for over a decade has given me something of a handle of running my own business, but there’s plenty of new territory for me to explore, like buying ISBNs, figuring out Amazon’s KDP platform, monitoring sales records more closely, ad campaigns, etc.

I hope you’ll join me as I expand my book offerings this way, and look forward to re-engaging at some conventions over the next year with my new imprint logo on the spines.

Check out the Story Strong Press website and let me know what you think!
