13

A quivering hand snakes its way up over the edge of the desk. Fingers fumble over the keyboard.

aFKASsvdvsv…
After rallying for a few seconds, the fingers orient themselves and try again.
13 miles…

…legs filing for divorce…
…someone…remind me why running is good for the body?…
With a last tremble, the hand slips back out of sight, and a light *thump* is heard, along with a last wheezing rattle of breath, the words almost undecipherable.
I…see…that…smile…

13 miles?! Nice work! Where do you go running? Before leaving Co, I spent a lot of time at Green Mountain and Bear Creek Lake Park (and still haven’t figured out why they have ‘creek’ and ‘lake’ together in the same title). And now I just pretend I’m on a trail with a superlative title as I’m running past dirty hipsters, choking cars, and rows of brick buildings. Sigh.

We mostly run around several parks in our neighborhood for the shorter, training stints, and for the long hauls every other week or so, we go along the Platte River trail. Nice scenery and decent shade.
