IGMS new episode is up!

Orson Scott Card’s Intergalactic Medicine Show has published its latest issue, containing my short story, Odd Jobs.
There’s a snippet of the story available here, along with this great illustration. Excited to see this story released. Thanks to everyone from OWW and otherwise whose feedback contributed to a stronger final version.

Yay! Congratulations on impressing Uncle Orson, or at least the Betelgeusian serpent oil salesmen working in his medicine show.

Thanks everyone! I also got permission from both IGMS and the artist to put the artwork on my website, so look for it there in a day or two. I love the little “when pigs fly” easter egg he hid in there. Great stuff.

Hey, Josh. As someone who's been on both sides of the interview table, I just had to find out how this particular interview ended, so I bought the mag–and it had me smiling through the end… Was this your first pro sale? Regardless, congratulations!

Thanks, Andrew. This wasn't my first pro. I've had a few before, and am hopefully inching towards a first novel. Short stories are a bit sporadic for me for some reason, but I enjoy them when the time comes. Glad to have you drop by.

I had picked up Leading Edge, October 2006, and enjoyed The Soul Shop as well. I'm a sucker for “deal with the devil” and similar stories,
ever since seeing & reading The Devil and Daniel Webster, Faustus, Needful Things, et al… Soul Shop had the neat twist of “compete with the devil,” though.
    Very cool.
