The ground looks like frosting

Certainly doesn’t taste like it, though.

I guess being an adult means not being able to hope for a snow day.

Sad.

Otherwise, I’m generally preoccupied with job and apartment hunting while also in the final…oh, 10k words of my current writing project. Could have the first draft in a week, if things continue to go well. How are you all?

I see that smile.

    Hey Josh,

Hope for snow my friend, and if you don’t get it I invite you to Warsaw where it’s snowing right now! 🙂

Otherwise wading through mud with my current project – every time I write another scene I need another five characters…

Thanks, Chris. We’ve gotten some lovely snow here lately, and the wife and I are planning on going snowboarding this weekend. Should be fun.

I know the feeling with the stories. Do you think there’s a point where it’s too late to introduce characters? (Aside from the last page…though I’m sure someone’s done that.)

Not at all! For me it’s all part of the story development process. As the plot gets thicker more and more people come along, and for the sake of realism you need to create the most thorough characters possible, so they have authentic (or at least realistic) voices and presence. That takes time and research and imagination and, for me, tends to hold up the story while I make sure my creations sound as realistic as possible. Grrrr…. 🙂
