If you haven’t discovered the writing podcast Writing Excuses before now, this is a great time to. Hosted by Dan Wells, Howard Tayler and Brandon Sanderson, this is a weekly (usually) podcast covering all sorts of writing topics, from plot pacing to violence to comedy, plus a ton of, well, off-topic conversations as well. Lots of humor and amazing insights into the writing craft.
The reason I bring it up right now is because of one of their most recent episodes, where they talk to Mary Robinette Kowal, a professional puppeteer, who provides some of the most incredible advice on how to bring your story and characters to life through some key puppeteering principles. Definitely worth a listen.
