The Great Genre Reads Giveaway begins!

I have a rather large stack of books that I’ve been collecting and which have slowly been overwhelming any space my desk once might have offered. A lot of these are recent or upcoming releases that I have/will be reviewing. In the meantime, though, I thought it’d be fun to spread a little reading love by dispersing the stack to others I know might enjoy these titles as much as I did. So, over the next few weeks, I’ll be holding a couple mini-contests to determine who I’ll be winging these books to!

This initial contest will be simple. Starting today, anyone who posts on this blog entry before, oh, let’s say 11:59 PM on Thursday (11/11/10), will be entered into the random drawing for the first set of books. Don’t forget to leave some way of contacting you (email, Twitter, etc.) in case you win. And let others know about this as well, so they can join in the fun.

Perhaps you’d like to know what you might win? We’ve got three books to start with:

Pump Six and Other Stories, by Paolo Bacigalupi

The Strange Affair of Spring-Heeled Jack, by Mark Hodder
Twelve, by Jasper Kent

There you have it. Two incredibly engaging novels and a fantastic short story collection. These three books will be sent to one randomly chosen commenter on this post, come Friday. I’ll contact the winner for a shipping address, and then the next contest will begin. It could involve Twitter. It could involve haiku. It could involve lolcats or some other ridiculous method of my choosing. But it will most certainly involve another selection of great genre reads for you to enjoy, such as Passion Play, The Wolf Age, or The Dervish House. So spread the word! And good luck.
